Salt, Sugar, Fat is full of revelations about the largest food companies. The truth is if you are the kind of person that are not aware of your health you will find it boring at first, but as you continue to read the book it will make you realize that you are just being fooled by the food manufacturers. On the other hand, if you are the kind of person who is trying to change their eating habits this book will help you.
There are things that I will always remember about this book, the kinds of food that are high in sugar, salt and fat, the nutrition facts, and the recommended intake of sugar, salt and fat. Now that I already know what kinds of food are high in sugar, salt, and fat I can avoid it. It is already in my head that those nutrition facts may not be always reliable. It will reminds me to watch my daily intake of sugar, salt, and fat because if I don’t it is me that will suffer in the end. In addition, I should be the one to be responsible on what I eat and what I buy.
Since I finished reading the part one which is about sugar it already have a effect on my eating diet. I become more aware on the foods that I eat and I am now avoiding cookies, sodas and other type of processed foods that have a lot of sugar. Plus, after reading the book I plan to make sure that I would only feed myself with more healthy ingredients which means less sugar, salt and fat. It will also affect the people around me because I try to share what I learned in this book so they would be alarmed that people are now exceeding their recommened intake of sugar, salt, and fat.

  1. It is so true that a lot of us are not really aware of our amount of sugar, salt, and fat in take. Eliminating the majority of sugar from your diet is a good first big step in improving sting habits. This book has also opened my eyes.

  3. Everyone should be aware what they eat. This book is a good guide to tracking your intake of those three items.

  4. It is sad but true that most people would not have much of an interest in improving their health; thus, bringing them to the conclusion that a book like "Salt, Sugar, Fat" is boring. However, a book like this being boring could never be further from the truth as everyone SHOULD have more of an interest for their health. One person taking interest in their health could automatically set off a domino effect, bringing others out of the hole that processed food has dug them into.

  5. It's great that the book enlightened us on what we're putting into our bodies. It's crazy to think how much power the food companies have on society's lives. I agree with you when you say that people need to be alarmed by salt, sugar, and fat.
