My name is Justine Andrea A. Mendoza and I am going to share my past, present, future with you. One of the most memorable things about my past was being a student-athlete. I started playing soccer when I was in elementary and coming from third world country, I had a hard time being an athlete when I migrated in the United States. Everything was so different for me especially our trainings but it never stopped me from playing. Every day I tried to improve myself and because of that I loved the game even more. I even thought that maybe I could share what I learned to my fellow teammates before, but unfortunately I got injured and I stopped being a student-athlete, I just became a full-time student.
I continue living my life as a
full-time student. I do not have work that is why I make sure that I am doing
well on my studies. I have a lot of personal problems but it does not stop me
for reaching my goals in life. I think maybe it is a good idea to just focus on
my studies even though I miss playing soccer. Right now I am just too motivated
to have high grades so I can transfer to a good University in the near future.
Whenever I think about the future, I
always think of me being a successful person. I want to have my degree or maybe
higher than degree. After that I want to have a work that I would really love.
I want to help my family and give them what they need. I want to have a simple
life but also a successful one. And maybe if I already reach all my goals in my
life, I would play again and I will be happy in life that I have.

Welcome to the class! Your blog is beautiful! Hope you can find a way to play soccer again too.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I myself got injured and had to get surgery done to my knee. It didn’t stop me from playing the sport I loved; yet another life changing experience did it for me. I hope you get to play your sport in the near future and achieve all your academic goals as well. Stay positive!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you go back to playing soccar. (;3\\)... What better way to live life than to enjoy it, and I do believe that is the point of life to be honest. c: Strive to be great! But also strive to be relaxed and enjoying yourself! cx I hope you succeed and help your family out!
ReplyDeleteI used to run cross-country, but had to stop for a little while due to developing pretty painful shin splints. So I understand how terrible a feeling it can be when you can no longer play or do things you love, especially because of something so unpredictable as an injury. However, I'm sure you will be able to pull through from your injury eventually and at least be able to enjoy soccer.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with accomplishing your life goals, and I hope you get to have a simple, successful future for yourself and your family!
I can really relate to your dedication to your sport. I can also empathize with having in injury slow you down. However, focusing on your studies is really admirable, and getting into university is a great new goal!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, you can feel how you still yearn to play soccer again. Dedication of that caliber will get you very far in life, use it in every opportunity that you have.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had to give up your sport. I know how hard it is to let go of a sport. That's great that you're not letting anything get in your way of achieving your goal. Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to not have to work. You are a fortunate one. If school is your only focus and responsibility, then you should take full advantage of your opportunity. Don't take your parents' hard work for granted.
ReplyDeleteI admire your dedication to your sport. Like you, I was injured and was unable to continue to dance for a while. It was the hardest time of my life. I hope you get back to playing soccer one day, and I wish you the best with your studies!
